Southland: The New Police TV Show on NBC

Southland steps in to the big shoes left vacant with the ending of ER. The show features a fantastic cast, and great writing thanks to Ann Biderman. Only a few episodes in, this show is off to a strong start.

The NFL Draft had several feel good stories in day two. Several players coming from extrodinary situations were selected in the later days of the draft. Regardless of where the players were drafted, they’ve realized their dreams.

San Francisco 49ers’ 2009 Draft Grade: A-/B+

The San Francisco 49ers filled a big need with the best player at that position, Michael Crabtree. The 49ers also drafted a good, productive linebacker and traded for a 1st round pick in the 2010 draft.

New York Giants & Jets: Good 1st Rounds

New York fans are always ready to make their opinions known on draft day. The Jets made the first splash by trading up and selecting Mark Sanchez. Later in the round the Giants filled a need with Hakeem Nicks.

Dikembe Mutombo Retires, NBA Loses a Class Act

Boston Celtics in Trouble Without Kevin Garnett

The Boston Celtics are facing the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the playoffs on their quest to repeat as NBA Champions. The series is tied 1-1 and Boston will have to win on the road without one of their stars, Kevin Garnett, to advance.

In 1999 5 quarterbacks were taken in the first round. Ten years later only 2 remain in the NFL. The 2009 draft will likely see 3 QB’s selected in the first round, will they fair better?
